Dear Friends, Supporters and Dallas County Voters,
I extend my sincerest thanks to each and every one of you who volunteered, contributed and ultimately voted to make the 2006 campaign a success. We all worked extremely hard, and I would not be on the bench today were it not for your energy and commitment.

I am honored today to be serving as Judge of the County Criminal Court of Appeals No. 2. This role, in many ways, is the culmination of my long career in criminal law, and I am finding tremendous fulfillment in serving the public and the legal community. Each day, I renew the pledges I made to you during the campaign, to be tough but fair and to listen with respect to every party who appears before me. These are the principles I believed in when I set out on the campaign, and I will keep them with me in my work throughout my term of office.
